Why S.A.F.E.R. Is Gate 2
Most programs focus on one thing: which is food, or hormones, or mindset.
The Wild Way™ is different, we recognise that true metabolic and nervous system healing requires three foundational gates, and all three must be addressed for lasting transformation.
Gate 1: The Wild Way™ (Metabolic Foundation)
This is the physical foundation.
Before your nervous system can regulate, your body must be fed, not with plants, grains, and "healthy" carbohydrates that spike and crash your blood sugar, triggering cortisol and keeping you in fight-or-flight. With meat and fat. The foods your body recognises as safety. The foods that stabilise your blood sugar, nourish your mitochondria, support your hormones, and give your brain and nervous system the fuel they need to function.
Gate 1 is about feeding the body what it needs to finally exit survival mode.
Without stable blood sugar, without adequate protein and fat, without the raw materials for neurotransmitter production, your nervous system cannot regulate, no matter how much you practice S.A.F.E.R.
Biochemistry must come first.
This is why women who try to regulate their nervous system while still eating high carb, low fat, plant heavy diets struggle. Their bodies are still running on stress hormones just to maintain blood sugar. They are still in survival mode at a metabolic level.
Gate 1 removes that foundation of dysregulation.
Gate 2: The S.A.F.E.R. Method™ (Nervous System Regulation)
This is the mental and emotional foundation.
Once the body is fed, the nervous system must learn to trust that it's safe.

It takes approximately nine months of consistent nutrition and practice for the nervous system to receive a reliable, repetitive signal of safety and begin to trust it.
